Clarihon - the people

Clarihon Web Services is owned and managed by Nigel and Pam Day. We work from our dedicated offices in a large house overlooking rolling hills just outside Liskeard. If you work with us you’ll always have contact with one of the two of us and we manage all web design projects ourselves.

After living in Berkshire for about 20 years we realised our dream of relocating to the West Country and moved to Liskeard in 2006.

A bit of background:

Nigel – Started life as a Microbiologist but then spent the majority of his employee life in IT. After working for a variety of Blue Chip companies, including Mars and De La Rue, he started up Clarihon in 2003. He does most of the web design build within the company.

Although Nigel has a technical background, it’s the idea of making a difference to people’s businesses that appeals most to him within Clarihon. It’s likely that he’ll be the one who does the initial analysis, most of the client liaison and the bulk of the project management.

Pam –  A Librarian by training, she spent the bulk of her employed life working for Mars. The second half of her career was spent helping in the development of systems to get the most out of Intellectual Property. Initially as a ‘key user’ and latterly as a member of a worldwide team, she developed a keen interest in the use of computers for business improvement.

Pam works part-time within the company and performs some of the design work and all of the Search Engine tuning research. Pam also updates many of the existing web sites we support.

Designers – we use Associate Designers for almost all of our new web sites. Whilst we try to use local Designers where possible, projects with restricted budgets mean that we go abroad to tap the large pool of talent around the world. We have excellent relationships with Designers in Indonesia, Serbia, USA, Bosnia, Canada, Austria, Finland and Australia. We have good contacts with many others. Programmers – we do some ourselves but again, we use Associates when we’re busy or we need certain skills. Most are local but we do have relationships with people and companies in Taiwan, India and Vietnam.
